A good material for landscaping landfills

Landscaping at landfill sites is a natural application for compost, as it is often produced nearby. At the same time compost can be used in place of naturally occurring materials.

Compost is an excellent surface layer material for areas that are capped off, for instance. It provides a good growing medium for plants, breaks down landfill gases through its microbe activity, and prevents rain erosion.
