The Managing Director of Vapo Timber Oy will change. Mr Juha Hakala (47), M.Sc. (Techn). is appointed as the new Managing Director. Mr Hakala has worked in various managerial assignments of sawmill industry, lately with UPM-Kymmene Oyj Timber. He will start as the Managing Director of Vapo Timber Oy on 1st of January 2010. The present Managing Director of Vapo Timber, Mr Heikki Piesala, shall go on working at the company in duties which will be informed later.

Vapo Timber Oy is Vapo's fully owned subsidiary. The business consists of production and sales of sawn goods and value-added products. The turnover in 2008 was 123,0 Mill. euro. The company has sawmills in Hankasalmi, Lieksa, Nurmes and Inari.
