Peat production season started in Estonia

Peat production has started at the Ellamaa peat production site in northern Estonia. About 500 m3 of horticultural peat is already in storage. The contractor operating at the site is OÜ Soosalu.

According to Matti Puuronen, Vapo’s Director of Baltic Operations, this is a very early start. Snowfall has been exceptionally heavy also in Estonia this winter, and at the moment the country is suffering from floods.
