Peat production machinery
|
Vapo is the world’s leading manufacturer, designer and developer of peat machinery. Vapo produces approximately 300 machines and devices annually for producing milled and sod peat, peatland rehabilitation, peat quality control and environmental protection. Vapo’s peat machines are in use in Finland, Sweden, Germany, the UK, Ireland, Russia and the Baltic countries. |
|
As well as peat production machinery, Vapo also produces other specialist equipment. An example of this is a subsoil drainage device that improves drainage of production sites. Vapo also manufactures equipment to improve environmental protection of peat production sites such as pumping stations.
Design and product development
Modern 3D design systems (Solid Works) mean that structures can be optimized right from the design stage. These allow assemblies to be created from volume models that show immediately the compatibility of components, the performance of the design and the rationality of tolerances. 3D design also enables strength calculations and automatically generated spread images of sheet parts, speeding up the design process.
Product and process development projects draw on the expertise of Vapo’s contractors. Thousands of milled and sod peat production machines designed by Vapo are used by contractors operating at Vapo’s peat production sites. Many product and process development projects involve research institutes, such as VTT, the Technical Research Centre of Finland.
Equipment production
The Haukineva engineering works of Vapo’s equipment production unit produces machine prototypes and 0-series machines. Production and equipment-related details are also refined there. Most of the actual series production is subcontracted. Spare parts for Vapo’s machines and equipment are available at two depots, in Kaikonsuo and Haukineva.
Further information Vapo’s peat production machinery and sales personnel is available on the product pages.
