Heat and power from local energy sources

Vapo produces heat and power in Finland, Sweden and Estonia. The power plants use wood, peat and energy crops produced by Vapo as their primary fuels. The Heat and Power business is a natural extension to the company’s operations in further processing local fuels.

In 2009, Vapo and its subsidiaries delivered 1,703 GWh of heat and steam and 309 GWh of electricity to their customers.
