Alternative operating models for Wastech composting

Vapo provides several alternative ways for local authorities and waste utility companies to acquire and operate Wastech composting plants. In each case, customers can continue to receive support after the tunnel composting plant has entered into use.

1. Turn Key – the plant is supplied to the customer completely ready to operate. Vapo’s comprehensive after-sales services are available to the customer.

2. Service Contract  – Vapo assumes overall responsibility for the biological treatment operation. It is responsible for construction of the plant, owns the plant, and is responsible for its operation as well as for marketing  and delivering the final product.

3. Operating Contract – the customer is responsible for constructing the plant and owns it, but Vapo assumes responsibility for its operation. If required, Vapo can also be responsible for marketing  and delivering the final product.

4. It is also possible for the customer and Vapo to establish a joint waste treatment company. Mustankorkea Oy in Jyväskylä, Finland, which handles community waste on a regional basis, is an example of this type of company.
