Fibre selection

Peat can be used to produce many different fibre fractions. Short fibre fractions (F and EF)
are typically best suited for composites and moulded pulp products, and they can also be used as a bulking agent in various fibre products.

Medium-length fibres (M) provide structural properties for products. Long fibres (L and EL)
are suitable for use as replacements for long synthetic and natural fibres in applications such as insulating materials and nonwoven fabrics.
Natural fractions contain various sizes of wood-like fractions, such as plant rootage and twigs, which give the end product a unique appearance that emphasises its natural origin.

The available packaging options for fibres are bales wrapped in plastic and bulk bags. Certain fibre fractions can also be delivered to high-volume customers as bulk loads.

As our customers’ fibre product manufacturing processes vary to a significant extent, the suitable fibre fraction is rarely found “off the shelf”. The best result can be achieved through trial runs to optimise the parameters of the peat manufacturing process in accordance with the customer’s needs.
